IUT Applied Physics and Instrumentation
IUT (University Institute of Technology) Physical Measurements of the University of Toulouse
Department of Physical Measurements of Toulouse is assigned to form qualified technicians and middle managers in the field of Measure or Metrology. It awards diplomas at two different levels:
-BAC+2 : DUT (Technical University Diploma)
Physical Measurements
-BAC+3 : LP (Professional degree)
ITEC (Instrumentation and Tests in Complex Environment)
MQM (Metrology and Quality of Measure)
A varied and skilled team of 50 people forms future graduates.
We would like to thank the IUT Physical Measurements for allowing us to use its equipment and its premises in order to make our acoustic experiments without their help we could not have made them because our school did not have the necessary equipment.
We would like to thanks especially the head of acoustic department for helping us, sharing her experience and for her time during experiments.
Office of Study and Aerospace Research
Research at ONERA meets the major challenges of the aerospace and defense industries.
It is the only organization in
There are 4 scientific branches :
- Materials and Structures
- Fluid Mechanics and Energetics
- Physics
- Information Processing and Systems
Following on from our first year work about the acoustics, we visited the ONERA and especially the anechoic chamber used to make sound tests on parts of an aircraft, for example.
We thank the ONERA and especially Franck SIMON for the very interesting and enriching visit of the facilities of the acoustic laboratory.
CIRIMAT
Interuniversity Center for Materials Researchand Engineering
To develop interdisciplinary research into all kinds of materials (metals and alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites) from their design to their actual use.
Research topics encompass: the reactivity of surfaces, interfaces and high surface/volume systems
the dynamics of heterogeneous systems.
These topics involving gas-solid, liquid-solid and solid-solid reactions include modeling research (oxidation, crystal growth, etc), development (nanosized powders, nanotubes, thin films, composite coatings, ceramics, etc) and the analysis of chemical, physical, mechanical, even biological properties.
The basic research goals of CIRIMAT include the synthesis and/or implementation of novel materials with specific properties, a better understanding of the interfaces in the development, transformation and use of the materials, the structure/properties connections (magnetic, thermal, mechanical, biological, reactivity, etc) and the enhancement of their performances (durability, environment impact, mechanics-chemistry coupling, bioactivity, resorbability).
We would like to thank the CIRIMAT for having financed the cellular materials we needed for our project and for allowding us to use their premises.
We especially thank our tutor Mrs. Poquillon for her help and for letting us use devices such as the SEM or compression machine.
"Ecole Nationale Supérieur des Ingénieurs en Art Chimiques et Technologique"
This project is part of the engineer formation of the ENSIACET during 3 years. It is composed of 5 departements with speciality:
- Industrial engineering
- Process engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Materials
- Chemical
All meetings and presentations are set in the premises of the school. Most of the experiments were realized in the CIRIMAT, ressearch laboratory located in the ENSIACET.
Many thanks to our tutor Dominique POQUILLON, professor and researcher at the CIRIMAT for leading all along this project. His help has been precious for the manipulation of the SEM or the compression machine, but also for the pertinent advice for the realization of the website and the global project management.
